Sure Foundation or False Conclusions?

Scripture: Acts 2:21
Devotional Series: Whosoever
Teaching: Whosoever pt. 1 (SUN_AM 2021-02-28) by Pastor Star R Scott

Augustine and Calvin created a horrible God, a horrible Father.  These men had to grow up without knowing what love is, because none of this is love.  If I have the opportunity to save your child’s life, it’s right there, and I just choose not to because I don’t want to, what do you think that makes me?  Can I go around, then, and claim in another portion of this Book, I am love?  It’s tragic, their misunderstanding of God.  God, as we’ve shared with you before, is a unitary being.  And when we understand that aspect of God, and we see that in this unitary being, there is never conflict between the triune persons nor any attributes of their oneness.  Amen?  There’s never conflict.  You see, Calvin and these guys are conflicted in their minds.  If you’ll listen to these men today, they don’t believe anything they can’t comprehend.  They don’t have faith.  If they can’t understand it, they won’t believe.  “If I can’t put my hand in the nail prints in Your hand, I won’t believe.”  It’s intellectual.  How do you comprehend an infinite God?  So, they’ve so shrunk the grandeur of this sovereign Being, but say He’s infinite.  He transcends all of His creation.  And they try to bring Him down to where they can comprehend Him.  He’s not God anymore if you do that.  God is who He revealed Himself to be, and He doesn’t need all of your explanation.  God is love.  God is kind.  God is gentle.  God is longsuffering.  God is not willing that any would perish, but that all men would come; amen?

What a great message we have to go out into the highways and byways and share.  What a great, simple message this is that we can declare His greatness.  The propitiation.  Not for us alone but for the whole world.  In 1 Timothy 2:1, the Scripture says, He’d have all men to be saved.  Hebrews 2:9 says He tasted death for every man.  He tasted death for every man.  Matthew 10:32 says, “Whosoever will confess Me before men, him will I confess before My Father”; amen?  “Whosoever confesses Me.”  In John 11:25  Jesus says, “I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:  And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.”  Praise God!  What a great promise to us.  When the church was formed, this great revelation of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus is for the first time being proclaimed to men.  Here’s the message, Acts 2:21 says, “And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord,” say it, “shall be saved.”  Praise God!  And then, of course, you can continue to read down through those next verses.  Jesus approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs.  In Acts 10:43, we see, “…the Judge of the quick and dead.  To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.”  1 John 5:1 says, whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God.

These are only some of the verses but they set a good foundation from the Scriptures; Scriptures that you have to add to in order to come up with Calvinist logic and conclusions.  And adding to the Scriptures brings destruction.  Let God be true and every man a liar; amen?  Hallelujah!

Father, help us to bring this message with boldness and love into a lost and dying world.  Thank You for loving us while we were sinners.  Thank You for dying for us, Jesus.  Thank You for being made sin with our sin that we might be made righteous with Your righteousness.  We rejoice in that, Father.  We’ll give you all the praise and all of the honor for it.  In Jesus’ mighty name, amen.
