As it pertains to regeneration, sometimes you’ll find unknowing charismatics taking one position as it pertains to the Person and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.  They’ll get in conflicts, sometimes, with other brothers and sisters, who say, “No, when we’re regenerated, then we’re filled with the Holy Spirit.”  No, when you’re regenerated you are indwelt by the Holy Spirit.  But there is a subsequent work of power, of authority, that comes in what we would refer to as the baptism in the Holy Spirit.  We want to take a little bit of a look at distinguishing between those.  But we don’t ever want to be caught telling people that are regenerated, “You don’t have the Holy Spirit.”  Yes, they do have the Holy Spirit dwelling within them.  “But you shall receive power after the Holy Ghost comes upon you,” He said to regenerated men after He breathed upon them and said, “Receive the Holy Ghost.”  They experienced that regeneration.  He subsequently, then, comes and says, “There’s more.  You need to go, you need to tarry in Jerusalem, and be endued with power from on high.”

If ever there’s a day where we need more power, it’s today; amen?  Power to stand against the seduction of the false prophets, of those lying teachers, of the lying signs and wonders that are going to begin to manifest themselves.  We need the Person of the Holy Spirit in us to bear witness whether these things are of God.  The Holy Spirit’s the one that will confirm to you, “That’s not of God,” because He brings to our remembrance everything that Jesus taught; amen?  We need that in this hour!  That’s why, a lot of us don’t even realize it, but we hear something and we go, “That’s not right.”  That’s not your brain, that’s the Holy Ghost in you.  “That’s not right.  That’s not of the Spirit of God.  That’s not the testimony of Jesus,” which is the spirit of all prophecy; amen?  So, we’re able to rest and rely in the Person of the Holy Spirit and how exciting that is!  In Romans 8:16, it says the Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are the children of God.  Aren’t you thankful for that inner voice?

How many times have you been discouraged, and then that sweet, still, small voice just rises up in you and reminds you of how effectual the blood of Jesus was on your behalf; amen?  That you are now freely justified by faith through that redemptive blood of Jesus Christ and the Spirit just bears witness with us that we’re the children of God.  Satan will be lying to you and try to tell you that your fellowship with Father’s been broken.  That you’re no good and you’re never going to make it.  The Holy Spirit will just rise up within us and say, “Nope, you’re a son of God, an heir, and joint heir with Christ Jesus,” hallelujah!  Let the redeemed of the Lord say so; amen?  We’re here and we’re declaring that great finished work.  Beloved, it’s finished!  We’re redeemed.  We are justified.  We’re being sanctified.  And at any moment, the trump of God could sound and mortality will take on immortality, and we will be glorified.  We will see Him, and we will be like Him; hallelujah!  Come quickly, Lord Jesus, come quickly, Lord Jesus!
