God Sees the Front Side

Scripture: Job 14:5
Devotional Series: He Does All Things Well
Teaching: He Does All Things Well pt. 1 (WED 2021-03-31) by Pastor Star R Scott

We going to have to deal with life and death situations periodically.  There’s some that are among us that have dealt with things that are terminal, and we’ve seen some that have gone so far beyond the doctor’s predictions, amen?  God’s good, amen?  His ways are far above our ways, hallelujah!  But when they’ve finished their course, their tapestry is done and the quota of their lives touched has been met, they’ve finished their course.  And what a haul of fruit that remains that will come up afterwards, and how God purposes another course.  You see, God is going to do His will.  Do you remember when Esther was told, “I want you to pray, and I want you to go before the king, and there is a good chance you’ll die; so, you pray and ask God what you should do.” But you remember in that passage, he makes this statement; “If you won’t do it, God will use another way.”  Amen?  Nothing can thwart God’s will.  God was going to deliver His covenant people, so why don’t you let it be through you, Esther?

Where are we at this time?  What are we believing God for?  Remember this, sovereignty presupposes prayer.  Prayer would be foolish if God was not sovereign.  God is almighty.  Those prayers that are woven into that tapestry—remember that tapestry was based on foreknowledge, God seeing eternally the decisions also that you and I are making to seek Him, to humble ourselves, to walk in obedience.  It’s not just something that He sat back and said, “Here’s what’s going to happen.”  He saw what is going to happen, made the provision for how these things happen.  Again, sovereignty presupposes prayer.  Crying out to God, seeking the Lord, that is what He told Esther.  He could have told her, “Don’t worry about it.  I’ve got this taken care of.  It’s My sovereign will, so don’t worry about it.”  No, the admonition was pray, fast, cleanse yourself, separate yourself, become holy, amen?  Because here’s the deal: we don’t know what the tapestry looks like.  You and I are looking at the back side of the tapestry.  Have you ever seen a tapestry?  And you turn it over, and what does it look like?  All of those stitches and all the loops and all of these different things on the back, and you flip it over, and there is that beautiful picture.  We’re looking at the back side; God’s already seen the front side.

So, as we are resting in Him, praying and seeking God, He is ordering our steps.  Job 14:5 says this: “Seeing his days are determined, the number of his months are with thee, thou hast appointed his bounds that he cannot pass.”  Our days are determined.  God has a day for us.  We may presuppose things, but our days are appointed.
