Will He Find Faith

Scripture: Luke 18:8
Devotional Series: Sovereignty and Prayer
Teaching: Sovereignty and Prayer pt. 4 (WED 2024-12-04) by Pastor Star R Scott

You can look at all the moral acts you’ve committed. I didn’t say immoral, I said moral acts that you’ve committed.  All the good things that you’ve done, all of the knowledge that you’ve acquired, but to abide in Him, John 15 tells us, as one of the branches means that the fruit that comes through us that are abiding in Him will manifest His essence, His character, His purpose for coming.  Because, you see, He’s left us behind to finish His work.  “I’ve ascended to the Father, and I’m going to send you the Holy Spirit to finish this work, and greater things than this shall you do because I’ve gone to the Father, and I’m going to be interceding for you.  And I’ve multiplied who I was on the earth.  You are My ambassadors.  You are My representatives.”  Those that saw Him saw the Father.  Those that see us see Jesus is how it’s supposed to work.  Is that Bible?  The will of God.

Jesus said, “I did not come to do My will but the will of He that sent Me.”  Amen?  That’s what we’re replicating every day we wake up.  I’m not here, today, to do my will but the will of He in Whom I abide and Who sent me.  “I send you into all the world, preach this gospel.”  Amen?  “And I will go with you and confirm the Word with signs following.”  Bold praying brings anointed witnessing.  Abiding in Christ lets us represent His name and power and authority as children with that signet ring.  And what we ask in that name, what we declare in the heavenlies—we do not approach the kingdom of darkness in fear and trembling.  We do not come based upon observation of what God has done.  We come as the instruments of what God will now do in His kingdom through the mighty name of Jesus.  And as the seven sons of Sceva we talked about last session, “In the name of Jesus, whom Paul preaches, come out.”  “Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are you?”  If we’re abiding in Christ, it’s known in the kingdom of darkness who we are.  And we need to begin to see ourselves that way.  And we have all power and all authority over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means harm you.  You cast out devils, you lay hands on the sick, and they recover.  You don’t bow because your employer is making some kind of threat, but you throw the windows open and pray like you always have and believe God for your source, praise God!  That’s what people that abide in Christ look like.

Dare we hope in our portfolios, in our jobs, when we serve the God Who owns the cattle on a thousand hills!  The God Who can still provide manna.  You see, that’s what a prayer life gives us.  The righteous are bold as a lion; amen?  Next time you feel threatened by circumstances or your job or whatever it is, these things that you put too much trust in, let’s remember Who we’re abiding in and stand up and say, “You can’t take my life.”  Isn’t that what Jesus said?  That’s the boldness a prayer life will give you.  That’s what it means to abide in Christ.  We just replicate and reiterate the very words of His mouth.  And whatever circumstance we have, the Scripture gives us words to speak; amen?  The Holy Ghost comes into that place, Ananias and Saphira drop dead, and then the Scripture goes on and said that there was a great outpouring, and many were saved, “And of the rest durst no man join himself to them…” (Acts 5:13).  Would to God that there would be holy ground again, somewhere.  Would to God that people would walk into this place and sense the presence of God and the power of God in a greater way.  And as I’ve shared before, I’m not bringing rebuke to us.  I’m trying to bring encouragement and reproof to us to say you know what, we’ve done good, but there’s better for us as this day approaches; amen?  For when He comes, will He find faith on the earth?

Father, we thank You for Your Word and Your presence.  Stir our hearts, give us a boldness, give us a boldness in Your presence, give us a boldness before men, give us a boldness before devils, praise God!  That we would stand as the very sons of God.  And in times of the expression of Your power, the miracles that will be seen, the prayers that will be answered, that we would be able to stand and say, “Why look on us as though our own power or righteousness has done this.  You need to know one thing.  It’s the name of Jesus and faith in His name that’s given us this victory.”  Father, that we would have more victories, more signs and wonders, more fruit in our lives, that men would come and say, “Sirs, we would see Jesus.”  And Father, we’ll give You all the praise for that and all of the glory in Jesus’ name, amen.
