Let God Be True

Scripture: Romans 3:4
Devotional Series: The Holy Ghost and Power
Teaching: The Holy Ghost and Power pt. 3 (SUN_AM 2024-10-20) by Pastor Star R Scott

“We’ve been given all power and all authority over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means harm us (Luke 10:19).  We need to become more proactive today.  We need to be bold as a lion.  We need to put on the armor of God and withstand, praise God, in this hour.

“They brought…many that were demon-possessed: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick: That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bore our sicknesses” (Matthew 8:16‑17).  We need to get this in our understanding, because as we’re out sharing the gospel in these last days, we’re going to be contested by believers—many not because they’re evil, but because they’re ignorant.  The teachings that they’ve received are false teachings, false doctrines that came about from the 1500s.  And if we’re going to know the truth, we have to go back to the original source, the Word of God; amen?  The testimony of Jesus.  Jesus said that He came to do the will of His Father; amen?  And He didn’t speak of Himself, but He spoke the words that the Father gave Him to speak.  Acts 10:38, “And God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing (how many?) all that were oppressed (psychologically and physically) of the devil; for God was with him.”  And He promised to be with us.  “Go in My name, cast out devils, heal the sick.  I will be with you and confirm the Word that you speak with signs following,” praise God!

We’re living in a day when people trying to answer the age-old question of “What is truth?”  brings us into an era where the majority of people in our society today do not believe that there is an objective truth, a true truth, a sole truth, an absolute truth.  The majority of people that you talk to today say, “Well, I’m so happy with you that you found your truth.  My truth is…”  We’re going to take a little time and show that one of the ways that God chose in the ministry of Jesus to verify truth, if you please—Jesus made it very clear: “He was the way, the truth, and the life, and no one could come to the Father but by Him” (John 14:6); amen?  Well, there are a lot of people that say that.

I want you to know that Jesus spent much time, then, in His ministry confirming the fact that what He was stating was truth by signs and wonders and miracles.  Whose truth are you going to believe?  The one that God raised from the dead?  Or every Tom, Dick and Harry saying, “My truth is…”?  “Let God be true, but every man a liar” (Romans 3:4).  John 17—this “Word is truth.”  This Word is truth; amen?  And we need to go out and share it in boldness in this hour that we’re living in.  We need to go out and declare in the highways and the byways, “There’s only one way,” without apology, without worrying that people will be offended.  We’re not to be offensive, but Jesus Himself is the rock of offense; amen?  The greatest love you can ever show a person is to tell them the truth.
