Such as I Have

Scripture: Acts 3:6
Devotional Series: The Holy Ghost and Power
Teaching: The Holy Ghost and Power pt. 1 (WED 2024-10-09) by Pastor Star R Scott

In Acts, Chapter 2, a great message is being preached.  Joel being mentioned, “This is that which was spoken (verse 16) by the prophet Joel.”  This is that.  Hallelujah!  “The pouring out of My spirit,” and he says in verse 21, “And it shall come to pass that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”  Amen?  Hallelujah!  Saved, made whole, spirit, soul, and body.  Whosoever.  So much for Calvinism; amen?  This one verse wipes out all of Calvin’s thesis.  TULIP is done away with.  This god that they’ve created with their acronym.  There is no limited atonement.  Jesus did not die for the elect, He died for the world.  And whosoever that believeth in Him can come, hallelujah!  Amen?  And then He goes on and makes this statement, Holy Ghost.  This message is continuing, and He said, “You men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by Him in the midst of you all, as you yourselves also know.  He, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, you have taken, and by wicked hands, you have crucified: but God has raised Him up from the dead, praise God, because it was not possible that he should be holden by death.”

What’s one of the things that Peter’s using here?  He’s saying, “You remember.  You saw it with your own eyes.  You stood there and said, ‘We cannot deny that a notable miracle has been wrought here.  What are we going to do, all the people have seen it’?”  The scholars and the scribes began to argue and the lawyers, and the statement was made, “Who can do this but God?  It’s never been heard that a man born blind from his mother’s womb has ever experienced this.”  “What’s this lame man doing walking?”  “Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have, give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk,” praise God (Acts 3:6).  Where is that church, the people that stood in amazement.  John, Chapter 7, verse 31, as they debated these issues, he says, “When Christ comes will he do more miracles than this?”  Amen?  His life, a testimony of fulfilling the covenant of God.  And I would say divine healing, by the very fact of Jesus’ life, and that He healed all that came to Him, spoke very clearly of what the doctrine of divine healing should look like.

Why do we have trouble today?  Well, we have 2,000 years of there being only a slight remnant left on the earth that believe and live like this.  This was not common in the Dark Ages.  Centuries passed, and history tells us, maybe we can find a few pockets of people here in the mountains, the Waldenses.  His church is alive and well, praise God, but not always universally recognized, identified.  Because from the year AD 300, men created their own identity, an entity called Catholicism in the times of Constantine.  And men began to be absorbed into humanism, into the secular realm, and the church was polluted with the wisdom, sciences and philosophies of the world.  It’s tragic.  You go to the Assemblies of God colleges, today, that are supposed to be raising up born-again, Spirit-filled, Holy Ghost filled men of power.  “But before we can send you onto the mission field, you have to finish this psychology class, this profile exam.  You have to be able to meet all of these different requirements.  You need to be degreed, today.”

What you need to be successful on the mission field or in the ministry or in your daily lives is found in that one verse that’s so clear, “Go in this thy power… have not I sent thee” (Judges 6:14).  Amen?  And as those words were spoken to Gideon, they’ve been spoken to every one of us, “Go ye into all the world, and preach this gospel.”  I will go with you and confirm what you preach with signs following.  Do it!  Do it!  Do it!  Find people that need prayer.  Find people that need the prayer of faith prayed over them.  Who are bound in fear, their minds, these people are bound and absolutely in bondage to fear.  Lay your hands on them, cast the devils out of them, speak peace to them in the name of Jesus!
