Give Thanks Well

Scripture: 1 Corinthians 14:2
Devotional Series: The Holy Ghost and Power
Teaching: The Holy Ghost and Power pt. 1 (WED 2024-10-09) by Pastor Star R Scott

We have a mentally ill nation, and its demonic powers.  And the minds and souls of people have been opened up through pharmakeia, drugs of different types.  A people who have given to themselves over to acts of lasciviousness.  America is Sodom and Gomorrah on steroids.  We are a more vile nation than Sodom and Gomorrah ever was, and yet, we have this gospel, this message—if this message would’ve been preached in Sodom and Gomorrah, they probably had a better chance of repenting, but we have a nation that is dull to the Word of God, unaffected by the Word of God.  Therefore, they need to see, in addition, some power of God.  Power and demonstration, miracles move people.  That’s why in the last days, when Antichrist is going to be raised up, there’s going to be, he's going to come with the false prophet with signs and what?  Lying wonders.  What makes them lying wonders?  Not that they’re fake; what makes them lying wonders is that they’re not of the truth.  They’re not of the Word, they’re not of God, they’re coming from supernatural working of Satan himself and the demonic powers that will bring people en masse to follow, and between that and the prosperity that the Antichrist will bring the nation.

See, we’re on the verge, we’ve talked about it many times, but the nation is on the verge of financial collapse.  It has to collapse financially.  The world has to collapse financially.  America has to collapse financially, because it’s the healing of that financial collapse that brings Antichrist to power.  So, it has to happen.  It’s inevitable.  When?  I don’t know.  But I do know we’re going to be raptured out of here before it happens.  Can you say, “Praise God?”  Let’s not only say, “Praise God,” let’s say, “Come quickly, Lord Jesus!”  I’m for the rapture, tonight!  There’s nothing here I want.  There’s nothing here that has a hold on me.  Oh, life goes on.  What a great week it’s been for us, two new great grandbabies. That’s life.  How exciting it is to see those precious little gifts.  I don’t want to see them raised in this world that’s coming.  Why don’t we just go home?  But we have the mandate to occupy until He comes.  That word occupy means “to go about and be busy with trading.”  So, we don’t hide from the world.  We’re in the world; we’re not of it.  We’re to “come out of it, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing” (2 Corinthians 6:17).  Amen?  So, we’re doing both simultaneously.  We’re in it, preaching the gospel, and we’re out of it, living in holiness and righteousness.  We don’t imbibe their worldview.

I heard a statistic, today, about Pentecostals, and it says that in the last survey, and, primarily, even the Assemblies of God churches, which is the biggest of all the Pentecostal denominations.  You do realize that the Pentecostals in America are a drop in the bucket.  There are, right now, world-wide, 600 million Pentecostals.  We’ve almost caught the Catholics and Islam and the other oriental derivatives.  But the statistic, it’s primarily for America.  Thirty percent of people who have been filled with the Holy Ghost speak in tongues maybe one time a week.  Paul said, “I thank God that I speak in tongues more than all of you”; amen?  “This is our refreshing,” the Scripture says, “praying in the Holy Ghost.”  Hallelujah!  “He that prayeth in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but onto God: and gives thanks well” (1 Corinthians 14:2).  He deserves His praise.  He gave you a prayer praise language; use it.  It’s what taps into the power of God.  If you’re feeling like you’re weaker spiritually than you’d like to be, pray in tongues.  Pray in the Spirit.
