We Haven’t Finished Yet

Scripture: 2 Timothy 4:7
Devotional Series: Finishing the Race
Teaching: Finishing The Race pt. 3 (SUN_AM 2024-09-22) by Pastor Star R Scott

Where is God’s heart for this generation?  He’s not willing that any would perish.  I sat down the other day when we, as a group, all the pastors, went down to the Bible Museum and watched Pilgrim’s Progress.  We were sitting down at the Wharf, and I was just watching the multitudes walk by.  We made the comment, “Every one of those people that are not regenerated, born again, hate God with everything that’s in their being.”  They don’t always manifest it, but the Bible is clear.  There are none that seek the Lord.  No, not one.  What is it that’s within men today, in our generation?  Men that we want to give a little ease and not be judgmental towards, “You know, realize they’re basically good people.”  They are totally depraved.  It doesn’t mean they are always as bad as a human can possibly be.  It means there is nothing in them that desires God.  There’s no pursuit of God within them, so they’re going to partake of their doings because you reap what you sow.  But Jesus died for every one of those people.  He loves every one of those people.  He’s not willing that one of them would perish.

When I was in India, just recently, we were doing the same thing.  I was watching all these people and I’m just, “They’re going to eternal damnation.  Eternally separated from God.  In absolute eternal, unending torment.”  People say, “Well, I’m going to be with my friends in hell.”  The Bible makes it very clear that you’re not going to have buddies that you recognize in hell, because the very knowledge of those people’s existence will be erased from all men.  Nobody will ever remember that you lived, or care.  People will be sitting at the feet of Jesus for a thousand years during the millennial reign, while Satan is bound in the pit.  The moment that Jesus lets Satan out of that pit, the humanity that was fed, provided for, by Jesus as the light, all these different aspects, will immediately turn on Him and try to destroy Him and His kingdom.  That’s what’s in man.

Every one of these people are under the rule of Satan’s kingdom, in one way or another, are being used to try to seduce Jesus’ bride.  We lose sight of the conflict that’s going on around us in the heavenlies.  We’ve become so carnal and so “temporal thinking.”  There’s a war that’s raging for your soul.  Satan will gladly give you the carnal desires of your heart.  “All of this wealth, all of the fame, everything that belongs to the world that they worship and love, I’ll give to you, for they are mine to give,” Satan said.  Elvis and—who’s that little girl that’s so famous today? —Swift.  They aren’t going to be singing duets in hell.  They’re going to be crying out in torment.  Satan bought their souls.  The same seducer is after you and me.  As I’ve reminded us, we haven’t finished yet.
