With All Your Heart
Scripture: Deuteronomy 11:13Devotional Series: Finishing the Race
Teaching: Finishing The Race pt. 1 (SUN_AM 2024-09-15) by Pastor Star R Scott
Amen! We’re going to just take a look at where we are in this hour. Here in our country, of course, we’re right on the eve of destruction, but the election is coming. Depending on which way the Lord orders our steps, there are many things that are escalating in the world today that are showing signs that His coming is sooner than when we first believed; amen? Come quickly, Lord Jesus. Aren’t you ready to go home? Just so looking for that soon coming of the Lord. He’s going to appear to those, the Scripture says, that are looking for Him. Are you consciously aware that He’s on the brink? Is it something that crosses your mind daily, possibly many times a day?
The Scripture is very clear when it says He is going to appear to those that love His appearing. Is there any earth-dweller in you? Is there anything here in this life that has your heart? We’re to love Him with all our hearts, with all of our strength, the Scripture says. We’re pilgrims here, we’re just passing through. He’s gone and prepared a place for us that eye has not seen, and ear has not heard, and it’s not entered into the heart of man those things that He’s gone and prepared for us. Metaphorically, we know the pearly gates and the streets of gold, it’s far beyond what you can imagine. Those are just things that were spoken to allow us, in our limited understanding, our finiteness, to understand the glory and the majesty. It’s beyond that; amen? Can you imagine? There’s sensation that is beyond our natural ability to sense our feelings, our emotions. In the spirit realm are far exceeding joy than we’ve ever experienced. We can’t identify it. With this spiritual joy, it’s a joy unspeakable and full of glory, hallelujah!
You know, there isn’t a lot of joy in the world today. We can see it on every hand. Here we are a people that are so unique. People look at us and think something is wrong with us. As we smile and it’s amazing to me how many people you run into and you smile and it’s like they don’t even know how to react. You can speak kindly to them and respectfully and share the love of God and they know that we are a different people. This light of the world, this salt of the earth, that God has called us to be. I want to encourage us today, let’s continue to work while it’s day. The night is coming when no man can work; amen? “Just a few more weary days and then I’ll fly away.” Hallelujah! I’m just wanting to share with us so we don’t lose track of the hour. The older we get, the time is just flying. Many of us, even at this age that we’re in, look back and go, “Squandered time, opportunities, time to pray, time to study, time to edify the body.” Every one of us could say, I think, at this hour, “Man, I could have done better.” Anyone think they could have done better at this point? It’s not over yet. Let’s finish strong; amen? Finishing the race. Paul makes it very clear that he saw the finish line and that one aspect that was burning in his heart, that desire to see Jesus, was at hand.
This outreach with the cars, of course, we call “Finish the Race Ministries.” People have asked so many times over the years “What does that mean?” What a great opportunity; amen? The race is almost over. We need to ask ourselves some questions. Have I been running the race lawfully? Some other questions that need to be asked. Have I put the effort into this eternal crown that I put into the temporal races in this world of trying to get ahead in the world’s eyes, looking after those things that are temporal? We, having been called to the feast, have we found ourselves being enticed in these last days to go prove our oxen, or check out the land that we just purchased? I’m speaking to myself! What has our hearts?
