Life and Death Decisions

One thing we need to do is to ensure that we are not influenced by all these “professed” churches that are promoting the false doctrine called Kingdom Theology, which is just a rehashing of the Roman Church’s belief that it is its position, as we saw during the Renaissance, to rule by natural power. The Roman Church was not representing Christianity: Christianity does not go out and slaughter people. We see God bringing judgment on the nations as He was sending His covenant people in among all of these pagans. There were specific mandates that were given by God. That was His way of establishing this Covenant with Abraham on the earth. When we come into the kingdom, with the covenant having been established, we come into the establishment of the kingdom, and Jesus’ kingdom is manifesting itself under a different methodology. The method is love; the method is humility; the method is the power of the gospel. So, we have some thinking to do. Don’t think for moment that, as Christians, we will go out there armed to the teeth to kill people to preserve ourselves. If the attack on us is for the gospel’s sake, we have been told what to do: we are to rejoice and count it all joy that we are found worthy to suffer for His name’s sake; amen? Self‑preservation comes into play when some thug wants to come and kill your wife. We remind him, with our gun, that the law is for the lawless. There is a difference, and we have to understand that. When persecution comes, we are to be prepared: there needs to be a mind and heart change in how we respond and how we are going to trust God. I know what many are thinking: “Isn’t this something in which we are to be guided by our own conscience?” Yes. That is why you need to pray. You might say, “I have no conscience.” Well, work on it.
This is not a game. We are talking about potential life and death decisions we will have to make for the glory of God. Jesus told Peter, “Put that sword away. If you live by the sword, you will die by the sword” (John 18:11). So, if we are going to live by the sword, let’s live by the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God in prayer; amen? Praying: the sword is prayer, bathing ourselves in prayer, praying night and day, disciplining ourselves that we would be people that could watch with Him one hour. If you can’t pray thirty minutes, if you can’t keep yourself in the presence of God in worship and in quietness to hear the voice of the Holy Spirit, what weapon do you have in this coming hour? If you don’t have the Word of God in your heart to where it flows forth like a river when the Holy Ghost speaks, then what weaponry do you have that will work? “The weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God…” (2 Corinthians 10:4) I’m talking about preparing for persecution. “Be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might.” (Ephesians 6:10) So, we are not going to unite with supposedly Christian organizations whose doctrine is, “We need to have Christian people elected to office, who can then pass laws that cause us to live in peace and safety.” Laws don’t change peoples’ hearts, and people don’t keep laws; amen?
