You Can Transfer Virtue
Scripture: Luke 10:19Devotional Series: Preparing for Persecution
Teaching: Preparing For Persecution pt. 5 (SUN_AM 2021-04-25) by Pastor Star R Scott
“I will not let you go until you have prayed for me, until you have believed God and spoken blessings on me.” People who have that authority, people who have that unction, can transfer it if people, by faith, will receive it, praise God! If you don’t believe so, then ask Joshua; amen? If you don’t believe it, go ask the disciples who, before they were born again and before they were full of the Holy Ghost, were commissioned by Jesus and told to go out and heal the sick and raise the dead, praise God. They were commissioned to do that. The anointing that was tangible so that handkerchiefs were taken from Paul’s body and laid upon the sick and they would recover, that anointing that was tangible was not only in Jesus: He transferred it to His church. “And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Behold, I give unto you power…over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you” (Matthew 16:19, Luke 10:19). When that lady reached and touched the hem of Jesus’ garment He said, “I perceive that virtue is gone out of me” (Luke 8:46). That virtue is in you: you can transfer it to the sick and they will be healed; you can transfer it to those who are hungry to be used for God and they will know the anointing of God and go in a power that they never have known before.
We, the church, are not hiding from those who are coming to oppress and persecute us. We will stand up because our weapons are not carnal, but they are mighty through God for the pulling down of strongholds. That’s who we, the church, are. We are talking about coming persecution; stop shaking in your boots, stop worrying about it, don’t lose any sleep, because our faith is the victory. Hallelujah! This isn’t something that makes us worry; but this is something for which we need to prepare: put on the armor of God, then attack the enemy. The armor of God is not for defense; it’s an offensive array, an impressive suit of armor that allows us to be victorious. But it must be put on consciously: I have known people who say they take time in the morning standing before their mirror and mimicking the putting on of this armor. They quote the Scriptures and say “By faith today I am putting on the Helmet of Salvation, praise God! They go through each item of the armor. But do you know what we need before we put on the rest of this armor? We need to have our loins girded with Truth.
We can look at the destruction of America from the secular view, but I want you to know that the same thing is happening in the churches. Preachers, elders, and Holy Ghost‑filled believers are compromising the gospel for fear of men’s faces, and to build kingdoms to themselves, preaching messages that are seeker-friendly just to gather people. “We just want to get people in here. We don’t care if we don’t ever use the words sin or repent. We play secular music for them in the foyers and have coffee houses in the churches.” Dear God! these churches that everyone admires, saying, “Wow! Look at that church,” If Jesus happened to show up there, it would be with a whip and He would drive them out because, “My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves” (Matthew 21:13). What are we going to do in this hour? We are coming to the place where we are going to be at war. We need the wisdom of God; we need the power of God to come upon us. We have God’s promise that He will fight for us; amen?
