Thy Word is Truth

Scripture: John 17:17
Devotional Series: The Spirit of Truth
Teaching: The Spirit Of Truth pt. 2 (WED 2021-09-15) by Pastor Star R Scott

The Lord is good, and His mercies endure forever, hallelujah!  Aren’t you glad for the mercy of God?  So exciting to see how merciful our God is in this end-time world that we live in.  God’s mercy extending to a God-hating generation.  The Bible’s very clear that in the last days men will come to that place where they are inventors of evil; that there will be a time, the prophet said of old, that men would call good evil and evil good.  We’re living in it right now—the greatest perversion the world has ever seen or known.  And when I talk about perversion, don’t just think of sexual things.  It’s perverted—all of this dogma and doctrine of secular humanism that’s being taught in our schools today.  It’s perverted thinking as they deal with these gender issues.

Truth is fallen in the street, the Scripture says.  Thy Word is truth.  When Americans allowed the Bible to be removed from the schools.  “Well, our government made that decision in Congress and the Supreme Court.”  There have been revolutions before.  I’m not going to go down that line; I’m just speaking of the hearts and how they’ve turned in our nation to be lovers of the creature more than lovers of the Creator; amen?  We’ve seen secular humanism introduced in situational ethics.  We follow our conscience and do what is right to us, and everyone has their own truth.  I’ll state it again, “Thy word is truth;” amen?

We’re living in that hour, it had been something that was on my mind that we were going to be sharing along these lines, somewhat, of our great heritage as members of the church of Jesus Christ.  What a great heritage; amen?  And a promise given to His church that the gates of hell would not prevail against it.  We’ve got promises, we’ve got a covenant, (praise God!) and the gates of hell will not prevail against the church of Jesus Christ.  We, the church of Jesus Christ, have been given all power and all authority over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means harm us.  Can you say, “Praise God” for that?  And yet, we’re coming into a generation when war is being outwardly waged against the church of Jesus.

Jesus said it very specifically: “They hated Me; they’re going to hate you.  And the reason they hated Me is because they hated my Father.  We live in a nation of God-haters.  “Well, they’re secularists.”  They’re God-haters.  “Well, they’re good people.”  They’re God-haters.  If you love Me, you will keep My commandments, and they will not be grievous unto you; amen?  You see, we either love God or we hate Him; the Scripture is very clear on that.  To be a friend of the world’s system is to be the enemy of God.  And the one thing the world fears today are people like you and me that are absolutists, a people that proclaim an absolute truth; amen?  You try to speak to people out in public today and present them the wisdom of God, which the world calls foolishness.  You speak to them the Bible, the Word of God, and the Bible says the natural mind cannot receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness unto them.

We know that God has called people like you that are not many mighty, not many noble; amen?  Simple people.  I don’t mean that you don’t have multiple doctorates, that you have a low IQ.  Simple in that we understand the truth of God as simple as it is.  We give no credibility to any of that other natural gifting or achievement.  But we don’t strive for our own gain and for our own greatness, for Jesus said, “If you’d be great in My kingdom, you’d become the servant of all.”  That’s not being taught many places in the world today; amen?  And even in the church.
