Preach the Gospel

Scripture: Acts 4:12
Devotional Series: Preparing for Persecution
Teaching: Preparing For Persecution pt. 5 (SUN_AM 2021-04-25) by Pastor Star R Scott

In the State of California, certain classes of kindergarten age were being taught to each take on a name from Islam, which would be their names while they were in that particular class.  They were taught how great and peaceful this religion is.  Excerpts from the Koran were recited in the classroom—in public school—where the name of Jesus is not allowed to be spoken, where the Bible is rejected, and (in most schools today) you can’t even carry it into the classroom to read in your spare time.  And some think persecution is not coming.  We find that, even now, many of you are mandated by your job to go to classes teaching you not to offend any self-interest groups.  “We need to show tolerance.”  But you surely don’t dare share the gospel of Jesus Christ.  The gospel cannot be tolerated, but racism can be tolerated.  The gospel cannot be tolerated; but transgender doctrine can be tolerated, and the women’s liberation movement can be tolerated, promoted, and defended.  Do you think we are not going to be persecuted?

Be careful when you’re out there sharing the gospel: in no way compromise it; amen?  But you’re going to be baited just like that little bakery was when that homosexual couple wanted them to bake a wedding cake.  Then the guy had to fight to stay in business because he refused to make a cake for a same‑sex marriage.  Isn’t it great to be free in America?  You will be baited just like this guy was.  So, when you’re out there and people bait you with this homosexual issue, they are looking for you to say things that are wrong (in their eyes).  We don’t need to go out and preach against homosexuality—preach the gospel; amen?   When someone asks you the question: “What do you think about homosexuality?” just say, “Not much.  But let me tell you this:  No actions we do cause us, under righteous judgment, to go to a devil’s hell; it’s because we don’t believe on Jesus.”  Amen?  As it pertains to some of the hot button issues today, when we are out sharing the gospel, we understand about people committing adultery, and drunkards, and drug addicts; but none of that will send anyone to hell:  it’s because they don’t believe on Jesus.  So, don’t get sidetracked by all of these sins, address sin; amen?  Sins won’t send you to hell, but sin will: so long as you embrace this independent life, and reject the gospel, and reject God’s only plan for salvation— “…there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved” (Acts 4:12) but the name of Jesus; amen?

Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man can come unto the Father, but by me,” (John 14:6) praise God!  It’s the way we all came.  We were all sinners.  We are all found in those lists in the Bible.  Here in our midst, we have murderers, we have adulterers, and we have people who have come out of homosexuality.  We have people who have been saved who used to be thieves and robbers, liars, and we could go on and on; amen?   Hallelujah!  Aren’t you thankful for the name of Jesus?  Aren’t you thankful for the blood of Jesus (praise God!) by which “He was made sin with our sin that we might be made righteous with His righteousness” (2 Corinthians 5:21)?  That’s the great message we get to share, and they will hate us for it, and it will primarily be those who profess Christianity.  But let’s remind ourselves of this: “If God be for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31) Hallelujah!
