Teaching: Money: Not The Root Of All Evil pt. 4 (SUN_AM 2024-10-06) by Pastor Star R Scott
Amen! The Lord is good, and “His mercies endure forever.” Hallelujah! What a great day! The Lord’s coming back real soon; amen? Come quickly, Lord Jesus! Just heard yesterday that Russia is sending its pilots down to fly Iranian aircraft, preparing for the invasion of Israel. The Bible says that, in the last days, there’s going to be a hook put in the jaw of the king of the North, Russia, and it’s going to be drawn into the Middle East. Many things going on are of great interest, right now, as it pertains to the return of the Lord. Look up, our redemption is drawing nigh; amen? We don’t believe it because we’re seeing certain things that are taking place, we believe it because it is written. That day is coming, will come, and we believe that it’s sooner than when we first believed.
We’re living in these last days, and the Lord’s coming for a church without spot or wrinkle or any such thing. How are we doing when it comes to cleansing ourselves? The Bible says the bride is making herself ready. You’re responsible. Nobody else can make you ready for the Lord’s return; amen? It’s not going to be hearing teachings. It’s not going to be through the encouragement of others, though those are all great things. The bride is making herself ready. Not only is the coming of the Lord sooner than when we first believed, but maybe it’d be good to ask ourselves a question. “Am I purer than when I first believed? Am I holier than when I first believed? Am I more excited about the return of Jesus than when I first believed? Am I more available for the kingdom than when I first believed?”
When we begin to ask ourselves these legitimate questions, then we’re a people that would be motivated toward the love of His appearing. Just loving, longing, looking for the coming of the Lord. I just want to see Him; amen? Not looking from the escapism mentality, though I am surely ready to get out of this place. What a filthy, vile world we live in. Wouldn’t you rather be in perfection and peace and holiness where the Lamb is the light, where there’s no more weeping and no more sorrow? Hallelujah! Come quickly, Lord Jesus.
So then, the admonition to us is to look for His coming but occupy until He comes; amen? We don’t run to the mountains and hide out. Some will isolate and try to persevere through isolation. We’re to go into the world and make disciples. We’re in this world, but we’re not of it. But I want to share something else with you. We’re in this world, and we are not afraid of it. I’m not afraid of this world. I’m not afraid that all of their evil is going to jump on me, somehow. You have to desire it. It can’t overtake you.
We’ve been given all power and all authority over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means harm us; amen? So, don’t be afraid of the world in these last days. Let’s go in the power that we’ve been afforded through the indwelling Holy Ghost and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. Put it in our mouths and realize that this gospel we preach, the prophet said, will consume them that are before it as fire. We are a victorious people and we need to remind ourselves of that. Now at the same time as we’re in this world, we have to understand that everything that pertains to this world is at enmity with God. It said, “enmity with God.” The moment we begin to befriend the world, we become an enemy of God.
