Difficult for a Rich Man
Scripture: Matthew 19:24Devotional Series: Money: Not the Root of All Evil
Teaching: Money: Not The Root Of All Evil pt. 2 (SUN_AM 2024-09-29) by Pastor Star R Scott
With the hour that we’re living in, we know that the Antichrist is going to emerge and, ultimately, through the work that he does to save the world from economic collapse, whatever it is that he’s going to do to take a world in economic collapse and solidify it and stabilize it, to the very place that he will ultimately enter the temple at the three-and-a-half year point of the tribulation and demand to be worshipped as God. Now, Trump just wants to be worshipped as Trump! But this man is going to want to be worshipped as God. So, we’re seeing and we’re aware that the signs of these times are already upon us.
The spirit of antichrist has been here for two thousand years, working in the earth, and is now manifesting itself at the full expression of the perversion, the mind, of Satan. An hour, the Scripture says, where men will call “good evil, and evil good.” We’re there. We look around us and we’re surrounded by a generation that doesn’t even blush with all of the profane lives that they’re living. They boast in their iniquities, in their perversions, and openly deny and defy God. So, in the midst of that, we, as believers, are restraining this spirit of lawlessness. We’re all there is that’s left to order, law-abiding people in this nation. Everyone else is establishing themselves as gods; every man right in his own eyes, seeking independence, not only of thought but of action.
Anarchy is on the horizon. Here we sit, as the church, the restraining force. In the midst of it, we go to the Scriptures and we say, “What is it going to look like for us in these last days?” Well, many are going to depart from this faith; amen? That’s what it’s going to look like. Many have already departed. The apostate religious system is growing.
How many of you saw the Pope the other day, sitting before this group of “Interfaith” leaders; Muslims, Buddhists, etc.? I’m trying to think of some of the other Eastern religions. So many represented, and they had their youth gathered into this meeting. The Pope, I watched it just the other day. I could hardly believe what had been said, so I looked it up and watched it myself as the Pope told these young people, “There are many paths to God.” The Vatican has since tried to cover it up and there have been all kinds of scrambling to try to smooth things out, but there will be a one-world church. There will be that great whore that the Scripture speaks of. That whore will give the preeminence, the wherewithal, the financial and political clout to usher in the Antichrist. The Antichrist will then turn on that great religious system and destroy it, demanding that he himself be worshipped as God.
So, here we are, and we know that, in the last days, men will be lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God. So, we were asking the question. How do we in America deal with our prosperity, when Jesus said it’s a difficult thing for a rich man to get into heaven? How many of you have taken that seriously? We are the rich. I don’t care if you’re living at what America calls the poverty line; compared to the other eight billion people on this planet, you are rich. They don’t know running water. They don’t know personal vehicles. They don’t know where their next meal is coming from. They don’t have health insurance. They don’t have life insurance. They don’t have a social environment to where the government takes care of them. We are rich. You are rich. Jesus said that it’s hard for a rich man to make it to heaven.
