With whom did you enter into covenant?  Did God bring you together?  Did you leave father and mother and cleave to this woman?  Are you still pursuing her?  Listen to what it says here: “Let her be as the loving hind and pleasant roe; let her breasts satisfy thee at all times; and be thou ravished always with her love.”  That word ravished is very interesting; it means, “to be seduced.”

Wives, we’ll possibly get into this more when we talk about your role, but I will say this in passing since we’re in this Scripture right now.  One of your roles is to continually seduce your husband.  If you don’t, some other woman will.  If you don’t believe that, then you can just continue to read here in Proverbs to see that there are those women at the corner, instruments of Satan, waiting to seduce your husband.  Listen, it’s not about the physicality; Satan wants to destroy your family.  Amen?  It’s not about physicality; people make it about physicality.  We know the lusts that are within our members and these different things, but Satan will see to it.  You might think, “Well, I don’t have to think about my husband, the way he looks.”  Satan has workers on his behalf whose whole purpose is to destroy God’s Kingdom, God’s family, and your home.  Tragically, we often begin to take too many things for granted.

Each husband is to be ravished always by his wife’s love.  “And why wilt thou, my son, be ravished with a strange woman, and embrace the bosom of a stranger?  For the ways of a man are before the eyes of the Lord, and he pondereth all his goings.”  His eyes.  This is something for us to remember.  His eyes.  God is watching everything that we do; amen?  Everything is always before the Lord, and He also knows the thoughts of our hearts.  Husbands need to make sure that they guard themselves against all of the little comments at work.  I’ll tell you; she’ll use every inroad possible: this strange woman now approaches your husband.  It might even start with a comment like, “You know, you’re just not like other men.  It’s just so beautiful, the family that you have and the love you have for your wife; I just so admire that.”  Our wives are supposed to be seducing us; amen?  “Oh, she’s just complimenting me.”  Don’t let any other woman’s compliments have any weight, have any effect on your life, whatsoever.  The issue we’re dealing with here is, men, we must guard our hearts.  We’ve got to be pursuing our wives.  We need to be satisfied with the wife of our youth; amen?

The physicality aspect is to be satisfied always with your wife’s physical beauty.  Do not ever say anything disparaging about your wife’s physical appearance, ever, in any joke or in whatever situation.  Be satisfied with the wife that God has given you, whom you pursued, and whom you won.  I guess it’s not airbrushing anymore, but get all of these fake women out of your thinking.  They don’t exist.  They used to airbrush the photos back in the old days, right?  Today they get on the internet where they have these different programs to change the look.  It’s kind of like a really cool custom car that you’re looking at, and you know exactly what it is, but it just looks different; it just looks so much better.  Oh, it’s been lengthened a couple of inches; it’s slammed down lower; it’s just slightly lighter; oh, the windshield is back just a little bit.  You know what it is but now there’s something different about it.  Well, they take these women and make something just a little different.  They bring the image to perfection.
