Created in His Image

Hallelujah! Amen. The Lord is good; amen? His glory and honor and all of His majesty are to be praised and worshiped, praise God! So, we give Him all of the glory. Thank God for the gifts of the Spirit, and they do edify the church and glorify the Lord. We’ve been taking a look at the role of the husband in the second greatest institution that exists, and that’s marriage. The church is first. The church is God’s delight and His glory. But we’re going to see very interestingly, here in Genesis, as you turn over to the second chapter, that God’s crown jewel, man, was created to rule and reign in His stead over all of creation. And when He saw that man was alone and didn’t have a helpmeet, He said, “This isn’t good. We need to make a helpmeet.” So, we see here, the first revelation of God’s heart that it’s not good for man to be alone; amen?
And as we look here at Genesis 1:26, it says, “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them (let us make man and let them) have dominion over the earth.” He says all of the earth down here at the end of the verse. So, “God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them” (Genesis 1:27). Now, we know people are messed up today, but the IOC Olympic Committee said that these two men boxers who were pounding on all these women and beating them up in the Olympics meet the rules required by the IOC to box as women. There’s only one problem, and that’s that they have XY chromosomes. That means one thing: they’re men. You can change anything else that you want, but if you’ve got XY chromosomes, you are a man. God was not confused on this issue. Male and female created He them; amen? You got XX, you got XY, that’s all there is. They’re trying to create all kinds of different genders, and it’s so ridiculous that it’s unbelievable that any time at all is being given to that. Let me go on.
So, this male, this being called Adam was created by God, and yet, woman still is not appearing on the scene. Woman is going to have to then, here in just a moment, appear, and she does not come by the molding of God’s hand or by His breath into her nostrils. She is, in fact, taken out of the man Adam. Adam had within him at creation all that there was to human beings. And He reaches in, as we all know the story, and He said, as we go down in Chapter 2, there needs to be a helpmeet for him, and in this aspect, it says there were none that were found, in verse 20, so the Lord caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam. Now, let me just say this, this is another way that our world’s thinking is going today, but there are no animals that exist on the plane of human beings; amen? And you’ve got all of these animal activists that would almost put a higher price on certain animals than they do humans. There’s the concern about people that are eating meat. Those are all things that God, in His Word, has not only condoned but actually provided. So, all of this nonsense that’s being talked about, today, don’t let it enter into your thinking whatsoever. If you choose to want to be a vegetarian, choose it because that’s what you want to be, but don’t think that there’s any merit in it, or that it’s somehow seen as a higher means of life. So, God has created all of these things for man, and it’s all to be received, the Scripture says, with thanksgiving.
