Our Faith is the Victory

Teaching: Preparing For Persecution pt. 3 (SUN_AM 2021-04-18) by Pastor Star R Scott
People out there are afraid because of COVID. There are people that are still barely leaving their homes. What a great opportunity to be able to minister to some of these people. You may have to stand six feet away. They may have a shield, three masks and a respirator. But if you speak loudly enough, they can hear you. You won’t be able to hear them but what a great opportunity.
That’s how we prepare for persecution. Let’s be out about Father’s business. Let’s be on the offensive sharing the gospel. Obedience to His commandments is what causes that hedge around you to stay in place. Obedience is what causes His angelic messengers to come and bear us up, “lest thou dash thy foot against a stone” (Psalm 91:12). When we are obedient, we are invincible. And so, we want to encourage ourselves to be obedient. What did He say? “Watch and pray.” Let’s be obedient. What did He say? “Put on the whole armor of God.” What does He say? Without faith you can’t please Him. We can’t do anything in our own strength. “Be strong in the power of his might.” Without faith in Him, without Him we can do nothing. And one of the things that we see about faith—and what a blessing this is—faith can be grown. You can grow your faith. The Bible recognizes little faith, strong faith, great faith. We know in Romans 10, “faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Romans 10:17). Do you want more faith? Spend more time listening to God. That still small voice. Hearing the Word. Now, the word hearing means to have an audience with and an intimate, specific declaration of His will. This is the fruit of abiding in Him. Communing with Him. Getting before Him and just being quiet. Ask, what do You want me to do? And that becomes the fruit, the evidence of having adorned ourselves with this armor and setting out against the enemy.
Father, we thank You for Your Word. We need You to increase our faith. Lord, increase our faith. Embolden us as we preach this gospel. Increase our faith as we expect and believe for signs and wonders. Increase our faith when we receive Your miraculous power in the healing of our bodies. Increase our faith that we might love one another as You’ve loved us. Increase our faith that we would forgive as we’ve been forgiven. Our faith is the victory. And for that, Father, we give You all the glory, in the name of Jesus. Amen. Our faith is the victory. Hallelujah!
