And They Glorified God

Scripture: Luke 5:26
Devotional Series: By His Stripes
Teaching: By His Stripes pt. 3 (WED 2024-03-20) by Pastor Star R Scott

We have to forgive as we’ve been forgiven.  We have to love as we’ve been loved.  Jesus enabled us to do that, praise God, through this redemptive work.  What does it take?  It’s not some emotional experience.  It’s not some visitation.  It’s a choice to believe that Jesus taking it on Himself was sufficient.  You’re free from its power, its lordship.  All these things operate by that great virtue that we call faith, the ability to call things as God calls them.  What does the Scripture say?  “Calleth those things which be not as though they were” (Romans 4:17).

I don’t have to be able to comprehend it.  I will say what God says about this.  And what God says is:  I’m healed.  Oh, I’m not denying that there’s not some kind of a warfare that’s taking place.  You have a broken arm and the arm’s dangling, and someone is saying, “Man, are you going to go get that broken arm looked at?”  And you say, “I don’t have a broken arm!”  “Dude, you have a broken arm!”  But you believe that by the stripes of Jesus you’re healed, praise God.  The prayer of faith is going save the sick and the Lord is going raise you up.  Doctors don’t heal you.  They’ll take you over there.  They’ll pull that thing into place.  They’ll put a cast on you, and God will heal you because God created this body to heal itself.  That’s one of the avenues God can use.  God can supernaturally move there and instantaneously snap that baby back into place; amen?  The woman with the infirmity who was walking along bent over for 18 years, oppressed of the devil, and thank God, He moved instantaneously.  She didn’t come up five degrees every year but she’d been down for 18 years and then in 18 years she was back up.  That could happen, but that’s not what we’re believing for ourselves; amen?  We’re healed by the stripes of Jesus.

In Numbers 21:8, we see those Old Testament types.  You remember there was sin in the camp and the Lord began to bring judgment and the pestilence came upon them and they were dying, and they had that brazen serpent.  Moses ran into the midst of the people, into the midst where the plague was manifesting, and they held that brazen serpent up.  He said, “Whoever looks on this is going to live.”  Years later, Jesus was ministering the kingdom of God and He made this statement of His own ministry, “If I be lifted up like Moses lifted up the serpent” (John 3:14); amen?

I’d like to encourage us:  let’s start lifting Jesus up as it pertains to this part of His ministry.  Let’s start bragging on Him.  We’ve seen some real healings and miracles here this past year and we have each year.  You need to start glorifying God.  These things that God does for us, don’t count the smallest thing that God does as trivial; amen?  Let somebody know so that we can glorify God with you.  One of the main reasons God heals is that we would glorify Him.
“And they glorified God” (Luke 5:26).  He would manifest His love and healing and work a miracle.  “And they glorified God.”  “And they were all amazed, and they glorified God.”  Be quick to boast in Him, to make Him big.  He’s worthy of that praise.
