Unto All Them that Believe

Scripture: Romans 3:22
Devotional Series: By His Stripes
Teaching: By His Stripes pt. 3 (WED 2024-03-20) by Pastor Star R Scott

Many people who believe in divine healing don’t necessarily believe that it’s in the Atonement.  That’s a very important question to answer.  We all know that God can, but will He?  What guarantee do we have that He will?  We know that if we were just relying totally on the sovereignty of God that we could rest in that.  I believe I’d have no trouble resting in the sovereignty of God, as He, in His own sovereign purposes, will deal with His creation as it pleases Him, because He would do right; amen?  He would always do right.  He would always be loving, and He would always be merciful, and He would always be just.  So, we can trust in that, and we can rest in that.

It sounds kind of noble, but if we’re not careful we’re going to get into the same mindset that many Calvinists are today and limit the Atonement of God; amen?  Many people who love Jesus, who confess Jesus, who confess the Word of God to be absolutely inerrant, God breathed, believe that there’s a limit to the Atonement of God, that only some will be saved, those whom God has predestined.  Calvinists believe there are those who are under an irresistible grace; you will get saved whether you want to or not, and you will be damned whether or not you reject or do anything that’s contrary to God’s kingdom.  They believe that God arbitrarily chooses some to be lost and go to hell, that He arbitrarily chooses some to go to Heaven.  So, they believe in redemption, but it’s just not for everybody.  However, the Scripture says that it’s
“unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference” (Romans 3:22); amen?  “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”

As we relate to Father, we have to understand that He’s immutable.  He doesn’t change.  He’s the same God, before He ever created anything, that He is today.  Creation has no effect on Him.  Us suffering and crying has no effect on Him.  He is the Uncaused Cause.  He is eternal.  He is omniscient.  He is omnipotent.  He is omnipresent.  All that He is, He has ever been.  It’s His nature; it’s His character.  From that character certain attributes are manifested.  He is just and He is no respecter of persons; amen?

We just read a survey yesterday and it showed a huge percentage of people who call themselves Fundamentalist Christians who believe that God is evolving.  It’s becoming very popular.  In that evolution, He’s evolving because culture is apparently evolving.  But it’s not; men have always been this wicked.  Men have always been God-haters.  Men have always preferred darkness because their deeds are evil.  There is no new thing under the sun; amen?  So, when we’re thinking about all this weird stuff that’s going on, this has been in the hearts of men since they fell, since Adam fell, for it’s out of the heart that these things proceed.  Every man is born in depravity.

Another big belief among Fundamentalist believers—it’s increasing, and at a great speed—they believe (many professed Christians) that man is born innocent, in innocence.  "That little baby that was just born is innocent."  No, that little baby is depraved.  It is Adam’s seed; amen?  It is born to be a hater of God, a rebel.  God, in His mercy, through Jesus, died for that baby and will, every day of their life, draw them to Himself.  He died for everyone equally.  So, the great mercy and grace and love of God is seen in the redemptive work of Jesus.
