He Healed Them All

There are a lot of people who can quote a lot of verses, but there are not a lot of people who can cast out devils and raise the dead. Let’s not allow our knowledge to rob our simple faith. We have to grow to the stature of a child, and we’ll be great in the kingdom.
So, Jesus was given this information that His disciples couldn’t cast out a demon, and He was not real happy with it. This was an encounter and a war took place in the spirit realm. “I brought him to your disciples, and they could not. And He said, ‘O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him to me.’ And they brought him unto Him, and He saw him. Straightway the spirit tore him, and he fell on the ground and wallowed, foaming at the mouth.”
It’s interesting how these demonic powers will show out at different times. I've seen it on numerous occasions. A few years ago, we were holding a meeting in the slums there on the outskirts of Nairobi. This woman fell on the platform, and I’d seen it before, but she just slithered like a snake, supernatural power. I’ve seen people just thrown to the ground by these demonic spirits.
So, this spirit began to act out in front of Jesus. Jesus asked the question, “How long has this been?” They said, “Since he was a child. He’s often been thrown into fire and thrown into the water to drown and destroy him: but if thou canst do anything, have compassion on us, and help us.” Jesus, on numerous occasions, was asked the same questions, “If thou wilt, thou can heal me.” And Jesus said “I will. Be whole,” praise God! Amen?
There’s something we are going to have to contend with in Scripture, and we’ll look at a number of miracles of the apostles. So often, people will say, “Well, this was Jesus.” The Bible says “He healed them all.” Amen? “Well, He was Jesus.” Jesus was a man, just like you and I, who was under the power of the Holy Spirit; His divinity was never once used in any of these miracles. He did not heal as God. He healed by the power of God working through Him as a man, just like you and me. His sinlessness and His complete trust and reliance on God, “to do the will of him that sent me, and finish his work,” is what brought about the authority to be our Redeemer, to become the substitute and sacrifice on our behalf, and to fulfill the eternal purpose of God, “from before the foundation of the world.”
As we’re looking and seeing these Scriptures, “If you can,” and Jesus turned it back around on him and said, “Listen, if you can believe, all things are possible to he that believeth.” Now the issue here is not “Can we believe?” This is where many of us get hung up. Can you believe, at this moment, for this demon-possessed boy? We know why the disciples were powerless. They were arguing among themselves who was the greatest. That spirit was there, that competition was there. "Who’s the most spiritual? Who’s the super saint? Who has the greatest faith? Let’s get the notches on our pistols to show how many men we’ve killed." In Christianity, how spiritual are you and how powerful are you? I cannot come up with enough faith to see this boy delivered. My faith is to believe that his deliverance was paid for from before the foundations of the world, and that it is God that will deliver him, not my faith. My faith is in God’s ability, not in my ability to believe. Oh, yes, He tells us, “Have faith.” We have to have faith, but not just faith to believe for a healing. You have to have faith to believe that He paid the price, that He is the Healer, that He is Jehovah-rapha; amen?
