I’ll tell you one thing I do know—though I'm sure not an expert—but I know concussions don’t get healed instantly. I’ve had many of them. For those that say they cause brain damage and all of these things—there are cases of them, but not all cases. Some people are more susceptible to long-term damage than others are. We’re all made differently. I’ve had many, and as you can see there are no consequences. I remember one, I got hit so hard, and I didn’t go unconscious, but about as close as you could be. I was on my face, and all I could think of—and those of you that have been hit like that—is “I’ve got to get up. I’ve got to get up.” So, I’m trying to get up, and I’m on my hands and knees, and a couple of guys grabbed me and jerked me up to my feet. Being the tough guy that I was, I wasn’t about to be helped off the field. So, I ran off the field. So, I’m running off the field, and I get over there, and I turn around and I’m standing there, and this guy taps me on the shoulder and says, “Are you okay?” And I said, “Yeah, man, I’m okay.” He said, “You’re on the wrong side.” I was over with the visiting team. How embarrassing it is to run around behind the goalpost to go back where you belong.
Thank God for that power that He manifested yesterday in that baby’s life. We can’t count it common. It was a visitation of God, based upon belief in His finished work on the cross, praise God! “And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up” (James 5:15), hallelujah! When you pray, believe, and you shall have it. It’s a promise of God.
We see over in Exodus, Chapter 15, these great promises. The Lord is so good. In verse 26, it says, “If you wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight…” Obedience, we spent a lot of time on this in our study on prayer. Obedience is praying according to the will of God; amen? “Not my will, but thine be done” (Luke 22:42). “Ye have not, because ye ask not. Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts” (James 4:2-3). Obedience to His will. Obedience to His Word. “If you will do that which is right in my sight and will give ear to My commandments,” God is saying, “and…keep all his statutes”—"Thy word have I hid in my heart, that I might not sin against thee” (Psalm 119:11)—“I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have put upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth thee”—hallelujah! Jehovah-rapha: the Lord our Healer.
