No More Blood Sacrifices

Ephesians 1:7 tells us very clearly, just this powerful statement that the redemption that came to us was solely through His blood. Now, remember this word "redemption" literally, in the Greek, means, “to ransom or to buy back or to separate back to oneself.” We don’t think about this a lot, but for those of us that want to rebel and be in control of our lives and, “I want to be the lord of my own life,” you never have been. You’re either owned by Satan or you’re owned by God; amen? Every one of us born in Adam was born under and into the kingdom of darkness, placed under the lordship of Satan. We’ve continued to keep that foremost in our lives because of that lie that somehow we can make a decision for independence. That's a lie from Satan. If he can make you think you have independence, he is truly lord; amen? It’s so deceptive. It’s very, very subtle, in fact.
We go to the fifth chapter of the book of Romans. It says, “God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. For if when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled we shall be saved by his life.” Praise God! We shall be saved by His life. “Therefore [verse 18] as by the offense of one judgment came upon all.” Adam’s sin brought condemnation to you. He says, “Even so by the righteousness of one, Jesus Christ, the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. For as by…the obedience of one shall many [all of us who believe] have been made righteous.” What a powerful statement. “That as sin once [verse 21] reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ,” the blood of Jesus.
We’ve talked about the fact, over the years, that we don’t necessarily go around articulating and saying, “The blood, the blood.” We’re not talking about some kind of incantation. I think it would be good for many of us to understand on a practical, daily basis how powerful the blood is working on our behalf, providing purification of our thoughts, our minds through the indwelling Holy Spirit. This cleansing of sanctification we’re looking for does not come by working harder, praying harder. It comes by believing the effectualness of the blood of Jesus Christ. When we can truly believe how pure and, listen, how legal the exchange was when Jesus bought us from the devil and brought us the power over sin, that it would no longer have rule or reign in our lives, we are free and we are free indeed, praise God!
There’s no need for any more sacrifices. Hebrews says He entered in once, praise God! His blood was sufficient to make you not only a child of God, not only to remit your sins, but to give you power to walk in holiness, to walk in righteousness as that new creature, that new man, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, praise God! The blood, the Holy Spirit is working on your behalf. We just rejoice in that. We go around boasting in that. That’s why Romans 6 has those key words; know, reckon, yield, and obey. We are to go about reckoning or saying about ourselves, continually, what that blood has done on our behalf. "I’ve been washed. I’ve been purchased. I’m a child of God." Hallelujah!
