Realize the Hour

Scripture: Galatians 1:8
Devotional Series: Are You That Light?
Teaching: Are You That Light? pt. 1 (WED 2024-07-03) by Pastor Star R Scott

As we’re entering this last hour, we’re hearing all of these masses of people wanting their ears tickled, the Scripture says.  “Prophesy to us smooth things.”  As we’re hearing this, it’s not going to be obvious.  “I don’t really see a lot of that going on right now.”  It’s not going to be obvious.  Much of the seduction is in the spirit realm.  The motivation that’s driving many of these false prophets.  At this point in history, do we hate false doctrine?  I mean, is there a hatred for all of these lies against the Truth, the Word of God, the Lordship of Jesus Christ?  If there’s a love for God, why, then, do so many churches today have the same divorce rate as the world?  If we’re comfortable that we’re teaching the gospel, then why are masses of the next generation walking out of these churches and being caught up into the world’s system and believing the lies?

Where are we, in preparation as the church?  Why are our Bible colleges doing the same thing as the secular colleges?  How dare they.  They not only bring Psychology into their schools, but they make it a requirement for graduation; in Bible college.  You talk about subtility.  How do you compare Freud with the Word of God?  How dare you hold the Word of God up and think that, somehow, it can be assisted by Freudian psychology!  “What we need is a professional counselor.”  What we need is for you to bow your knee to the lordship of Jesus; amen?  You want good counsel?  Die.  Die to yourself.  Recognize yourself as the chief of sinners.  Deal with your depravity; amen?  On this straight and narrow path we’re on, we’re going to be hated.

Ninety percent of what’s being preached today is not the gospel of Jesus Christ.  It is another gospel.  Paul said, “Let those that promote it be damned to hell” (Galatians 1:8).  Paul said, “If you continue to preach this, you have already received the judgement and will receive the wrath of God. You will end up in hell, if you live by the revelation of another gospel, another Jesus.”  But we don’t want to offend people.  I want to encourage us to realize the hour that we’re in.   Our lives should be offensive to those people that we encounter every day.  I don’t mean that our behavior should be offensive. I mean our lives should be offensive.  Our doctrine should be offensive.  We should be willing to speak up.

I told you about my brother’s son, who is pretty high up at some big corporation.  I asked him the question, "How are you making it out there?"  He said, “You just keep your head down, do your job.”  But he has nothing to live for, and he sure has nothing to die for.  Christians are not called to go out there, keep our heads down, and try to keep our jobs and get through life.  We’re out there to preach the gospel.  That’s why you go to work every day.  “To fear God, and keep his commandments,” the whole duty of God that’s been given to us; amen?  What an excitement!
