About His Business

Teaching: Eternal Life pt. 1 (WED 2021-08-18) by Pastor Star R Scott
My mother told me a story a little while back—I can’t remember the time frame now. I believed that my dad had died and gone to hell, no question in my mind of his rejection of the lordship of Jesus. He was a good natural man, fun—loved to have fun, help people, give you the shirt off his back. But would never bow his knee. I shared the gospel with him so many times. And as we were going through her things, there was a sealed envelope that had “Bob” on it. I thought, “What in the world could this be?” So, I opened it up. Interestingly enough, I opened it up and inside was a tract. Thank God for gospel tracts; amen? Thank God for those of you that go to rest homes, our ministry, our outreaches here—that faithfulness. Thank God for that faithfulness, amen, of all of you who’ve participated and the testimonies we have of some of these elderly people being born again through the outreach. I love it when old people get saved! It just so ticks the devil off. So, I take that gospel tract and I look at it, and incorporated into it is the Twenty-third Psalm. I flip it over and in my mother’s handwriting she said, “Bob, I just wanted you to know that just a few hours before your dad passed away, he handed this to me and just said, ‘Keep this for me.’” And as she talked to him and she made this statement, “I really believe he made things right with God.” So, it went from a place of knowing he was damned to a realization of God and his mercy down to the last couple of hours and someone had put a tract in that hospital room. God’s so good and so merciful! Did he make it? I don’t know. But if he cried out for mercy, he did. Because our God is a God of mercy; amen? If he cried out for forgiveness, he did, because our God is a God of forgiveness, and He’s not willing that any would perish, hallelujah!
So, we see in this seventh chapter of Revelation, it talks about these evangelists—a hundred and forty-four thousand. We know the two witnesses are going to be raised up that will shake the world by the power and authority of almighty God. And he said, “After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands; And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.” And he said in verse 13, “Who are these people who are arrayed in white robes?” And the response was, “Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, these are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Therefore, are they forever before the throne of God, and serve Him day and night.” “They shall hunger and thirst no more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat. For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto the living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes,” hallelujah! We know it’s a remnant. And God’s not willing that any would perish. So, if that’s His will in the tribulation when wrath is being poured out, what’s His will today? Are we doing our job? Do we love souls. And it was on my heart last night, just asking God, “Let me see the condition of a lost world. Give us a few more days that we can go tell somebody of the love of God and the great redemption story.” And I think if that’s not burning in our hearts, then maybe we’re more weighted down than we think we are in this hour. Maybe we’re under more power of Sodom than we think we are. Because if we’re hearing from the Spirit of God, we’re going to be hearing that there’s a remnant that needs to be reached. The cry of the hearts of anybody that’s born again, we’ll be about His business, and that’s souls, praise God! God help us, amen, in this hour to labor while it’s still day. The night’s coming when no man can work.
