With All That is Within Me
Scripture: Psalm 103:1Devotional Series: A Thankful Heart
Teaching: A Thankful Heart pt. 1 (SUN_AM 2024-04-21) by Pastor Star R Scott
We bless Him at all times, hallelujah! Psalm 103:1, “Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name,” hallelujah! All that is within me. With all of my heart, with all of my strength, I will praise Him. If we’re going to do anything heartily, praise Him; amen? If we’re going to extend our energy and the focus of our minds, then let it be in worshiping Him, the fruit of our lips giving thanksgiving to His name, hallelujah!
Remember how we have to battle the wisdom of this world. How we have to battle the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, the pride of life. They just absorb us. All of the world’s tentacles entwining our lives and choking the Word of God out of us. How do we rip those things from our lives? Praising the Lord; amen? Worshipping God, hallelujah! Being thankful. Lust, lust, lust, more, more, bigger. “I want my due. I want recognition. I need to do something that I can get personal worth out of, that I can feel complete, that I can feel valuable.” The world won’t ever satisfy that in you; amen? You want to feel complete? Then why don’t you worship Him? That’s what you’ve been created for. And we’re going to do it forever; amen? If we don’t enjoy worship and praise, if we don’t have thankful hearts, we’re going to hate heaven, because there’s not anything up there about you. It’s all about Him, hallelujah!
Father, give us thankful hearts. All that we have, we’ve received of You. How can we despise that? How can we say that it’s not adequate? How can we say we deserve more? You’ve said we’re to give thanks always for all things, and so, we choose to do that. Thank You for my salvation. Thank You for my spouse. Thank You for placing us into the body of Christ as it pleases You. Thank you for knowing my name. Thank you for the preparation of Your soon coming. Thank You that You’ll never leave me, though I so often forsake You. Thank You for Your immutability. We always know where to find You, we always know how to find You. Thank You for the choosing of this life to bring forth fruit that will remain.
It’s You in us, working to the glory of the Father, and for that we say, “Thank You.” Thank you, Father. In Jesus’ name, amen.
