Come Out from Among Them

Scripture: 2 Corinthians 6:17
Devotional Series: Preparing for Persecution
Teaching: Preparing For Persecution pt. 1 (SUN_AM 2021-03-28) by Pastor Star R Scott

God is purifying us and purging us and refining us as a people.  And part of what we’re going to share about today is that process is ongoing.  Until He comes; amen?  And He’s making His church ready for His soon coming.  We’ve been emphasizing that over these last months.  He’s coming for a church without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, praise God!  He’s coming for a chaste virgin.  And we were sharing that that of course is in contrast to the portion of the church today that’s committing adultery with the world’s system.  “Come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you” (2 Corinthians 6:17).  Amen?  In this hour, there’s to be a coming out of the world.  And we need to take that to heart.  And if you think you’ve come out of the world, let me encourage you this morning, we need to come out of the world.  Amen?  I’ll say it again.  If you think you’ve come out of the world, I want to admonish you this morning, we need to come out of the world.  We are more under the influence of this world than we would like to think.  We are vexed on a daily basis as Lot’s soul was vexed by the things that he saw and heard on a daily basis.  As it was in the days of Sodom and Gomorrah, so shall it be in the days, the hour of the coming of the Son of Man.  And we’ve studied that just recently and looked at that.  And we see what it was that brought Sodom and Gomorrah down.  The sodomy, the homosexuality were only consequences of their pride and their wealth and their idleness.  People make a big deal out the homosexuality and the movement that’s going on today.  Homosexuality is not the problem that people think it is.  Sin is the problem.  And I want to tell you something, that idleness is just as big a sin as homosexuality.  In fact, so often, it is the root, it’s one of the great causes.  When man is not given over to seeking the kingdom of God and becoming eternally and spiritually rich, this flesh lying dormant, our bodies, supposedly the temples of the Holy Ghost, are turned over as harlots to this world’s system and to the sinfulness of this hour.  As it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be in that time of the coming of the Son of Man.  The Bible says that in the day of the judges, every man doing what was right in his own eyes.  Does that sound like today or what?  In this world, are no absolutes.  The church itself has come in and is presenting a spirit of antinomianism.  In other words, “Don’t bring me under any bondage.  Don’t bring me under the letter of law.  I’m free in Jesus.”  Yes, you’re free to replicate Jesus; you’re not free to deny His Lordship.

So, with all of that said, as we’re coming in and making that stand in this last hour.  We’ve come out from among them, as a community, the best we know how, but we can do better.  We’ve come out from among them.  The more we begin to replicate Him, the greater the hatred of this world and the effort of Satan to seduce you is going to increase.  We cannot be ignorant of his devices; amen?  And as children of light, as we’ve looked, and this will be our last little bit of introduction.  As children of light, this day should not overtake us.  We are not ignorant.  No man knows the day or the hour of the coming of the Lord Jesus, but we can discern the seasons.  I would encourage you to hear what the Spirit says to the church.  To look up, beloved, our redemption is drawing nigh.  Hallelujah!
