His Mercy Endures Forever
Scripture: 2 Chronicles 20:20-22Devotional Series: A Thankful Heart
Teaching: A Thankful Heart pt. 1 (SUN_AM 2024-04-21) by Pastor Star R Scott
Isn’t it tragic how many people grovel at the feet of men, trying to impress them, trying to get recognition by them, trying to imitate them, looking for some little crumbs to be cast to them. And yet God has promised us all things; amen? But we settle for the crumbs that men would give us. They give titles, they give money, they give recognition, all for their own personal gain. God blesses because He is love, and He’s merciful, and He’s kind, and He’s good, and His mercies endure forever. He deserves our praise, hallelujah! He will never leave us nor forsake us. He deserves our praise. He’s gone to prepare a place for us. He deserves our praise, hallelujah! We will see Him, and we’ll be like Him. He deserves our praise and our worship. You alone are worthy, Lord. You alone are worthy, Lord, hallelujah! There’s none like unto You. Great is our God. Great is our God, high and lifted up.
And as they went forth to this great battle, in the natural, no chance whatsoever of victory. God is our victory! And the victory has been won at His declaration; amen? Therefore, we go forth praising Him before we see the results, hallelujah! So, the Scripture goes on and tells us they went out, praising the beauty of holiness and said, “Praise the Lord; for his mercy endureth forever. And when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushments up against them,” and the victory was won, hallelujah! Amen? You want God to fight for you? You want your enemy ambushed? How many of you would like Satan taken care of before he even shows up to fire the fiery darts, for God to ambush him on the way? Hallelujah! Then He needs to be worshipped. Thanksgiving needs to become a great part of our lives, our thoughts. “Neither were they thankful.”
It’s interesting how we measure gifts. Some people say it’s not the value, not the monetary value, but the thought that counts. How do you value gifts? I’d like you to give a lot of thought before you give me that valuable gift. What’s the treasure? The real treasures are those that are relational, aren’t they? When you know that that gift is a demonstration of the heart of that person. So often, not much intrinsic value whatsoever, but they’re treasured. The little kindergarten papers that are still stuffed away. That rose that is pressed between the pages that you received from your lover. “I am my beloved’s, and He is mine.” The banner over us is love. It’s not the diamond ring, it’s the words spoken in season. Those words of praise and thanksgiving for the treasure you are in their life carries far greater value than anything that can be done in the natural. Think of how your heart leaps within you. Think of how deeply you’re touched when your lover gives you those great treasures of praise, of thanksgiving, of worth. And just think how, then, the Lord feels when we return that thanksgiving and love to Him because of the beauty of His holiness, praise God.
