Perilous Times Will Come

Happy Mother’s Day. We’re a people that are blessed with godly women, and they’re difficult to find. We’re living in a society, in fact, when one of Satan’s preeminent efforts is to bring about that broken order that God had established from the beginning when He created man. Man needed that companion, needed that helpmeet. And that great gift was presented to him by Father, and man was fulfilled in this natural life. But the only thing that can really fulfill a man is God. Amen? And thank God for godly women who are teaching that to their children. And to those that teach their children’s children. So, we are so blessed. When all of this foolishness we see in the world today that is being promoted, to see godly women who are honoring God with that inward beauty of a regenerated spirit of humble hearts, it’s as rare a thing as rubies, and we thank God for all of those of you here in our midst that are fulfilling that call.
Let’s turn to the epistles of Timothy for just a moment. And it’s going to be a little different type of a Mother’s Day message. It’ll have to do with that last statement I just made. A great mother, a godly woman, in this hour, will be doing everything possible in their lives to bring both themselves and their homes into order. Amen? Because everything antichrist is doing is to bring disorder and rebellion and independence and lawlessness. And that’s what’s being promoted in our society today, as it was in the day of the judges; every man doing what’s right in his own eyes. We’ve been blessed here as a people, and we’ve been raised, now, decades on sound doctrine. Can you say, “Praise God” for that? We give God all of the glory. But the Holy Spirit, speaking here in 1 Timothy 4:1 says, “Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils…” Giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils. Paul, speaking to Timothy over in 2 Timothy 3, “This know, the Spirit speaketh expressly.” Then he goes on and says, “This know also, that in the last days perilous times will come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves...” And he goes down into all of these different expressions of how that will manifest itself. And it says, “Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.” So, it’s a day when, even within the church, there are those who are feigning Christianity.
