Are You a Believer Who Actually Believes?

Scripture: John 14:27-29
Devotional Series: Resurrection Life
Teaching: Resurrection Life pt. 1 (SUN_AM 2021-04-04) by Pastor Star R Scott

We should be experiencing soundness of mind.  The rest of the world today is looking at COVID-19, and they’re looking at the instability of the world’s economy, but we, beloved, have not received the spirit of fear, but of power, of love, and of a sound mind.  Hallelujah!

“Peace I give unto you (Jesus said) not as the world gives.”  Because Jesus is alive, we’re at peace.  Because Jesus is alive, we’re not bound by fear like the rest of the world.  The Bible says cast all of your fear, all of your care, all of your anxiousness, upon Him because He cares for you.  Hallelujah!  Ah, thank You, Jesus.  It’s because He’s alive.  The Bible says that because of His resurrection, Jesus is taking up another position at the right hand of God the Father.  We know that Stephen experienced that revelation when they were stoning him to death.  Just as he’s about to have his spirit leave his body, he looks up into the heavens, and he sees Jesus standing there (Hallelujah!) to receive this great martyr and welcome him home.  “I’ve gone to prepare a place for you (Jesus said) and if I go to prepare a place for you, I’ll surely come again and receive you to myself, that where I am, you may be also.”  See, we’re not just going to talk on the resurrection.  We need to have our hearts comforted concerning the natural response to death and the spiritual promises that death for the believer is victory, praise God!  The Bible makes it very clear.  The last enemy that was overcome through Jesus’ resurrection was death.  Hallelujah!  There is no power in death any longer.  The sting of death is sin, but sin doesn’t dominate our lives as Christians.  We are dominated by justification and life through Jesus Christ.  We’re not afraid of death; we welcome death.  Death is just like walking into another room.  You just walk out of the natural, the physical, into the spiritual realm which is where we’re going to spend eternity.  Hallelujah!  The Bible’s very clear that we lay down this earthly body, but we take on a spiritual body.  That’s what the resurrection is all about, clothing us in His righteousness.  Jesus, raised from the dead, is now at the right hand of God the Father, ever living to make intercession for you.

Do you have any needs?  Jesus is praying for you right now.  Hallelujah!  Jesus is praying for you at this very moment.  He’s raised from the dead.  He makes alive our mortal bodies.  We don’t have to stand there and endure bad news.  He is making alive our mortal bodies.  By the stripes of Jesus, we’re a healed people (Hallelujah!) because Jesus has been raised from the dead; amen?  Do you believe that?  All things are possible to him that believes.  You know, the first century Christians were called believers.  There are too many professed Christians today that don’t believe.  You have to believe what’s in this book; amen?  Thy Word is truth in a world that has no truth, a people that don’t believe in absolutes.  The world is influencing the church today.  Of people who profess to be fundamental believers, fundamentalists, thirty-three percent don’t believe in the deity of Jesus Christ.  They just believe He’s a good man, a teacher.  God help us!  Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life, and no one can come to the Father but by me.” Hallelujah!  I believe that, praise God!  I believe that we’re called to shout from the housetops what we’ve heard in our prayer closets.  Hallelujah!
