Beware; Watch and Pray

Scripture: 2 Timothy 3:12
Devotional Series: The Good Shepherd
Teaching: The Good Shepherd pt. 4 (SUN_AM 2021-03-14) by Pastor Star R Scott

As iniquity is increasing, the love of many, Scripture says, is waxing cold.  An hour when men are going to be lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God.  A time when men will not endure sound doctrine any longer, but will heap to themselves teachers, false prophets on the rise, lying signs and wonders that will be deceiving the hearts of those who have not dug deep, as Jesus admonished, into the foundation of the Word of God.  When all of these things come, not only will our house stand, praise God, the Scripture says, it was not even shaken, hallelujah!  Don’t you want to come into this last hour with a faith that can’t be shaken–not that we just make it out the other side?  Thank God for His grace; amen?  We’re more than conquerors and we need to approach this hour with that attitude.  We’re not looking to just barely hang on; we are the restraining power of God on the earth today.  Satan cannot do his final work as long as the church is here.  Let’s remember who we are and the power that’s been given to us and that He’s given us all power and all authority over all the power of the enemy.  That’s who we are.  Oh, we know that there are going to be some very, very adverse times.  We know the message of the false prophets, “Peace, peace.”  The voice of the Holy Ghost says, “…all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution” (2 Timothy 3:12).

Peace is not coming to us, persecution is, but you don’t even have to be shaken, praise God.  Greater is He that’s in us than he that is in the world, hallelujah!  As we believe that and we prepare ourselves for that hour—oh, we can’t just casually lollygag through this life.  We need to be diligent.  We need to daily make sure that we are putting on the full armor of God; amen?  Are you dressing yourselves in this armor every day, this Word?  He speaks to us from this Word, rhema, a truth that puts faith into our hearts, an assurance that what God has promised, He will perform, hallelujah!  As Father Abraham was fully persuaded.  We go to war and we need to understand that this Word is effectual.  It’s alive and powerful; amen?  This is our sword, the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God.  He says take it up and pray, hallelujah!  We’ve heard the admonition to pray for the souls that are around us, that God would give us a boldness to go forth and finish the course that He’s called us to.  We are the light of the world; we are the salt of the earth.  We are that restraining power and we need to rejoice and believe on a daily basis that our faith is the victory.  At the same time, the Scripture says, “Beware!  Watch and pray!”  Are we?  Beware!  Watch and pray that this day does not surprise us.  We are not children of the night and children of darkness that this day should come upon us unawares.  We’re children of light.  We walk in the day, praise God.  We understand this hour that we’re in.  I don’t think we really appreciate on a daily basis everything that Satan is doing to destroy your life and your family.  Right now, he is working plots against you to destroy you, to deceive you, to draw you through your lusts to your own death!  We’re at war.  We’re at war, and this is no time to take our eyes off this finish line, praise God.  Paul said, “I fought a good fight, amen?  I’ve finished the race.  ‘Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness.’”  Are we fighting the good fight of faith?  Are we doing what we understand is our responsibility in these last days?
