The Season Is So Very Clear

Scripture: 1 Thessalonians 5:1-2
Devotional Series: Conflict with the Whore
Teaching: Conflict With The Whore pt. 1 (SUN_AM 2021-01-31) by Pastor Star R Scott

God never leaves us nor forsakes us.  He never leaves us defeated.  He’s never failed once, praise God.  God is so good and so faithful, “the same yesterday, and today and forever (Hebrews 13:8).  The immutability of God, that unchanging, eternal, infinite faithfulness.  “I will never leave thee nor forsake thee.” (Hebrews 13:5) What a time of rejoicing!

Satan is really afraid of what’s taking place in us, as a fellowship, in the preparation of the church, in this hour of preparation as He’s making His bride ready.  You know, there isn’t purification without opposition.  It just doesn’t come any other way, than us being able to experience and endure all these trials of our faith.  To where we can ultimately stand and “count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of our faith worketh patience (James 1:2-3), consistency, stability, endurance.  We know we’re not to let all the different aspects of the fears of men come.

I’ve noticed that a lot of Christians are almost afraid to talk about counting it all joy when you fall into diverse temptations.  “Let’s just not even talk about it.  We know it’s true, we know it’s in the Bible, but if we don’t say anything, maybe the devil won’t know we are here.”  He’d better know you’re here; amen?  He’d better know our names are written in heaven, praise God.  “Jesus, I know, and Paul I know,” those devils said, and we don’t want it said about us, “who are ye?” (Acts 19:15).  We want to be known, we want to be those that he’s trying to take out because that’s just evidence of us bringing fruit of the grace that He’s working in us and we give Him all the glory.  There is a purpose for it, that we might be made perfect and entire, wanting nothing (James 1:4), praise God.  Isn’t that your heart’s desire?  And so, when we see these adversities and we begin to learn to embrace them, what a rest, what a joy in the Lord!

Beloved, “there is no fear in love (1 John 4:18); amen?  Your Father loves you.  He will not allow you “to be tempted above that ye are able; but with every temptation He makes that way to escape for us that we might be able to endure it (1 Corinthians 10:13).  Sometimes we escape out, sometimes we escape through, but the good news is we escape!  Praise God!  We stand again to war another day on His behalf and for men to see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven (Matthew 5:16), praise God.  And that’s what we’re living for, that’s where the real joy of our hearts is found.

As we meditate on what the Lord might have for us as a community, we can see what’s ahead for us that we know is written scripturally.  God is encouraging our hearts and preparing us for the hour that we are coming into.  Beloved, the season is so very clear.  No man knows the day or the hour, but we can discern the season the church is in as we begin to look and see what’s on the horizon (1 Thessalonians 5:1‑2).  So, one of the first things that comes to mind is, if we’re being given time, and we know this hour is coming, what are we doing to prepare?  Wouldn’t it be foolish to know and not be ready?  Wouldn’t it be foolish in the days of plenty to not lay up for the days that are coming upon us?
