Mark Them That Oppose Sound Doctrine

You’re better off to offend men who can kill your body, rather than offend God who can kill body and cast your soul into hell (Matthew 10:28). The majority of people are going to oppose the stand that most of us here are going to make. They’re going to hate you, and offer you up to be killed and believe that they’re doing God service (John 16:2). When the martyrs were killed and lying in the streets, the whole world threw a party that they no longer had to hear the gospel, amen? A world-wide party celebrating the death of God’s preachers. Revelation says it another way, “These are those that are drunk on the blood of the martyrs” (Revelation 17:6). They haven’t changed their course or their purpose. Why is it that the church always wants to run and snuggle back up against them? What is it in the professed church that has this appetite to be received by the world? To embrace this whore. To identify with the creature. “I never approved you; depart from me.” So, we see, then, that there is always, that final consequence.
Light reproves darkness; amen? If we are the light, darkness should not be comfortable in our presence. Most people we won’t have to send away, unless they were satanically implanted in our midst. Most people will run away. They prefer darkness because their deeds are evil. The greatest way we can protect ourselves and our posterity, is to become brighter and brighter every day; amen? You want to protect your kids? How light can you become? How offensive to darkness can you become? When commanded to no longer preach in the name of Jesus, their response was, “What are you asking us? Do you have no clue who we are? Are we to obey God or man” (Acts 5:29)?
Romans 16:7 says, I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.” It doesn’t say call them brother. “Everybody that names the name of Jesus is my brother.” Well, they weren’t Jesus’ people. He said, “I never approved you”; amen? They were naming the name. “Don’t call me Lord and not do the things I’ve commanded you to do.” You’re not of Jesus unless you’re living Christlike in absolute submission to Him. I’m not talking about moral purity, I’m talking Christlikeness. “I’ve not come to speak My words but the words of He that sent Me. I’m here to finish the work” (John 14:24), praise God! “My doctrine is not My own, but the Father’s doctrine who sent Me.” Be careful who you’re calling brother and patting on the back and bidding God speed. It will come back on your house. You are absolutely giving place to that spirit just as righteous Lot did. Wouldn’t you rather not have God have to drag you out of Sodom? Wouldn’t you like to walk out by the revelation that God has given you? Wouldn’t you rather walk out by transformation of that inward man of the heart? This new man which is created in Christ’s image?
Sound doctrine is just living the mundane, staying in order as it pertains to church, to the home, to live in divine order that the name of the Lord be not blasphemed. But the one thing we see here, and as we study the Scriptures it becomes perfectly clear that there has to be an identification and a separation from this false doctrine that gives men license to be governed by their own perception. Men who are making statements of their security in Christ, and yet the Word of God saying that “they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God” (Galatians 5:21). Sound doctrine. Lives that are living orderly. The doctrine according to righteousness. What a powerful, powerful statement.
