Live Sound Doctrine
Scripture: 2 Timothy 3:13Devotional Series: Sound Doctrine
Teaching: Sound Doctrine pt. 3 (SUN_PM 2021-02-21) by Pastor Star R Scott
It’s vital that, in this hour, we live the sound doctrine that’s going to preserve us, to keep us from being deceived by that great spirit of the whore. Where these, who are the spirit of antichrist, will go around “deceiving, and” they themselves “being deceived” (2 Timothy 3:13), the Scripture says. These false prophets are going to rise up, and they’re going to rise into power because men will bring them into that prominence, no longer wanting to remain in sound doctrine, but will find these false prophets and false teachers who will teach them the things that they’re wanting to hear. The one thing they’re not wanting to hear, as we can see in 1 Timothy, Chapter 6, is a sound doctrine that demands godliness. If we can take just a moment and understand the spirit of antichrist—and I don’t think we appreciate this enough—the spirit of antichrist, this hatred for God, is beyond anything that we can comprehend. It’s a supernatural hatred by one of the greatest creatures that God had ever made. The power, the satanic power. None of us here appreciates the power of the devil as we should. And he still moves even in a realm of authority to where even those who are angels and those who are in prominent positions dare not even neglect who this creature is. And he says even to the point where they will not necessarily use their role, their position of authority, but say, “The Lord rebuke you” (Zechariah 3:2); amen? That’s how powerful he is. He’s an angel, the angel of darkness, who appears as an angel of light in these last hours. He knows the heart and the mind of God and perverts those things to draw to himself those who are weak, those among us, the Scripture says, who are without covering.
You’ll notice that he says these false teachers go house to house, and who is it that they prey upon? “Silly women” (2 Timothy 3:6). Now, who are these silly women? These silly women are those that are not fulfilling sound doctrine. The ones that are not teaching the younger women to love their husbands and to love their children. Those women who are not fulfilling their role that God placed them in as it pertains domestically and in the community. Who are these silly women? Women that are wanting to come to preeminence, to prominence, when Paul says in Corinthians, “You learn at home from your husbands” (1 Corinthians 14:35); amen? These silly women are those who set aside the divine order, who want to ascend, who want to be prominent instead of orderly. So, they’re prey for these teachers that come in and prey upon that spirit. What a need for humility in this hour (amen?) for every one of us.
